One of A Kind

This one of a kind doll cradles her sweet carrot baby
swaddled in embroidered silk polka dot bunting sprouting wool-felt greens.
Both heads are sculpted from air-dry clay with silk fabric overlay detailed with color pencil features. The main doll has wired posable hands and sculpted air-dry clay feet. Her exquisitely braided hair is three shades of strawberry blonde cotton twist applied strand-by-strand framing her face.
The linen teal blue coat and matching hat are custom embroidered in darker teal blue and accented with miniature brown buttons at the back in an open work pattern. Green silk organza bloomers are accented at the knee with decorative Swiss buckles on embroidered cuffs.  A matching embroidered belt with buckle sits at her hips. Wool felt shoes with meticulously stitched details and miniature brown buttons accent her tangerine colored cotton socks.

 The removable pedestal is wood and paper Mache upholstered in teal blue jacquard fabric.

This doll is similar in color scheme and fabric selection to an earlier doll from 2006 which appears on the cover of 500 Handmade Dolls by Lark Books.
